Justine Otaala

During the spring of 2001, Justine Otaala (shown below), graduate teaching assistant in science education, created his first PowerPoint project for his science education class, EDCI 365. He also assigned students the task of doing a group project using PowerPoint at the beginning of the semester. Students in the class chose one of the topics from textbook and created a group project using PowerPoint. In week 10, students presented their project in class (shown at bottom)

Justine reported encouraging results from his tryout with the technology. He was excited about his first PowerPoint project and is trying to do his next project using HyperStudio. He is very happy that he can take the advantage of Powerpoint in teaching now, and he is encouraged that his students gained another experience that they can apply when they teach in the future.
